Who owns The Loft?
Colleen Desmoulins is the sole proprietor of The Loft brand in Second Life.

If you come across a recognizable The Loft product that bears the name of another creator please contact Colleen Desmoulins at contact.theloft@gmail.com as soon as possible, as this item may be an unauthorized copy.

How can I keep up-to-date on The Loft’s future product releases?
There are many ways you can keep current with what’s  going on at the store:

  • Become a member of the Lofty Spaces update group in Second Life.
  • Join The Loft Furniture and Prefabs group on Flickr.
  • Subscribe to receive notifications of new posts:
    • Click the ‘Sign me up!’ button to receive email updates;
    • Add our RSS feed to your preferred feed reader.

How can I purchase The Loft products as a gift for a friend?
Most of The Loft’s products are transferable. If you are interested in a product that has been packaged as “no trans”, please visit our online store on the Second Life Marketplace to browse over 100 giftable items and furniture sets.

Custom Work:

Are you available to design me custom furnishings for me?
Due to time constraints in her personal and professional life The Loft’s proprietor, Colleen Desmoulins, is not able or willing to create custom work for private clients.

If you are looking for products tailored to your style tastes, please browse or create a “wanted” post on the Second Life or SLUniverse forums.

Are you available to decorate the interior of my home or office space?
Due to time constraints in her personal and professional life The Loft’s proprietor, Colleen Desmoulins, is not able or willing to (re)design your interior spaces.

If you are looking for an interior designer in Second life, please browse or create a “wanted” post on the Second Life or SLUniverse forums.

Products:

Can I purchase a “full perms” version of one of your products from  you?
All components of The Loft products are made from scratch by Colleen Desmoulins and are specifically and exclusively created for her use. Colleen does not provide full permission copies of The Loft products – in part or in whole – to other Second Life residents under any circumstances. This includes sculpts.

Like many content creators, Colleen’s chosen niche is the retail of complete, polished, first-run products.

If you are  looking for home and garden items with full permissions, you will find that there are an abundance of content creators selling such items on the Second Life Marketplace.

If you are looking to purchase sculpts of home and garden items, you can find many options on the Second Life Marketplace.

Does The Loft donate to charity events in Second Life?
The Loft does contribute in-kind donations to charitable events. If you would like to offer Colleen Desmoulins, the store’s proprietor, the opportunity to participate in your event, please use the Contact page or directly email to contact.theloft@gmail.com.

Trade Secrets:

Which program(s) do you use to create your products?
The Loft’s proprietor, Colleen Desmoulins uses Maya 3D to design custom sculpts for her housewares and Adobe Photoshop to create their textures. Poses are purchased from Second Life pose makers and added to furniture using the Perfect Sitter.

Do you do one-on-one or group  tutorials for people who want to learn how to create in Second Life?
The Loft’s proprietor, Colleen Desmoulins does not offer instructional courses for aspiring content creators.
